Terbicip Cream (Terbinafine Hydrochloride Gel) - Active Ingredient And Chemical structure

The active ingredient contained in Terbicip Cream is Terbinafine Hydrochloride. Terbinafine hydrochloride is a white to off-white fine crystalline powder that is freely soluble in methanol and methylene chloride, soluble in ethanol and slightly soluble in water. Terbicip Cream (Terbinafine Hydrochloride Gel) is to be stored at room temperature (15°C to 30°C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light.The medicine is to be kept out of reach of children.


Terbicip Cream (Terbinafine Hydrochloride Gel) - Uses

Terbinafine Hydrochloride in the form of Terbicip Cream is used to treat Fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes, Yeast infections of the skin and Pityriasis (tinea) versicolor, due to Pityrosporum orbiculare.



Terbicip Cream (Terbinafine Hydrochloride Gel) - Dosage

Terbicip Cream can be applied once or twice a day. Clean and dry the affected area before applying the medication. The patient will get relief of clinical symptoms within a few days. Continue the treatment for the prescribed period since irregular use or premature discontinuation of the treatment carries the risk of recurrence. In case of Tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, cutaneous candidiasis, the duration of the treatment is one week whereas the duration of treatment for Pityriasis versicolor is two weeks.


Side Effects Of Terbicip Cream (Terbinafine Hydrochloride Gel)

The most common side effects of are redness, itching or stinging which occur occasionally at the site of application of Terbicip Cream. Less common side effects that may occur are allergic reactions, which are rare but require discontinuation of Terbicip ointment.
